As a part of its silver jubilee celebrations, Nagarik Mancha will felicitate 25 activists who have devoted their lives to the struggle of the marginalized fighting for their rights. Maybe these activists have not come into the limelight but they have indeed stood by the movement and struggle of the marginal people.
On Saturday, 22 November 2014, at 3pm this felicitation programme will be held at the Kolkata Subarno Banik Samaj Hall, 47, Ganesh Chandra Avenue, Kolkata 700013.
All are welcome.
An Appeal
During the 25th year of its existence, we have initiated a number of significant activities which includes:
- A Legal Aid Centre on every Tuesday since October 2013;
- Publishing the Sangbad Nagarik Mancha from November 2013;
- Launching a website on 22 September 2013.
The Mancha also plans to felicitate 25 activists who have stood by the movement and struggle of the marginal people on 22 November 2014 and also publish a booklet on these devoted rights activists. An estimated amount of Rs 1 lakh will be needed and as in the past we appeal to you for donations.
